President’s Welcome

Greetings Sisters and Friends!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the South Broward Alumnae Chapter (SBAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. SBAC was chartered on April 17, 2009, by 41 amazing women committed to sisterhood, scholarship, and service. Today, we are a membership of over 160 diverse and talented college-educated women, dedicated to empowering South Broward communities through the implementation of programs that will have a sustained and lasting impact on the communities in which we live, work, and worship.

In alignment with Delta Sigma Theta’s National Five Point Programmatic Thrust, South Broward Alumnae Chapter is committed to work with courage and conviction in service to the South Broward community to promote academic excellence, encourage social action, maintain steadfast political involvement, and provide programs and services to meet community physical and mental health needs.

We believe in the power of collaboration and welcome opportunities to develop strategic partnerships with community stakeholders and nonprofit organizations that align with our purpose. I invite you to explore our website, review our programs and explore our events to see how we are making strides to improve our community. Also, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

If you are a member of our illustrious sisterhood and are looking for a chapter home, I invite you to join us at a chapter meeting or event. You will be welcomed with open arms! If you are a member of the community, please support our public events so that we can continue the legacy and vision that our 22 esteemed Founders began on January 13, 1913.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you will return frequently to obtain information with regards to our upcoming events.

Yours in Sisterhood and Service,

Dr. Showanda Richardson , Chapter President
